Visual Thoughts: D²LC (Day II: Spoiled)

NotSafe.jpg

Yes and No. Yes this is a review of Doki Doki Literature Club, and there is no mistake about it, this is not a duplicate – it is… A proper review peeling open the darkness behind the innocent-looking visual novel, the real layer underneath the mask, that practically many individuals starting the cutesy looking game, got a false impression of.
It’s pretty clear isn’t it? They specifically mentioned that this game isn’t for children nor for the faint-hearted. Well maybe it isn’t, considering the #moe aesthetics and the fact that it is a free game, which give a positive first impression to unsuspecting game explorers on their steam accounts.
Doki Meme 81.png
I heard about this game a little early in November, and with the soaring number of memes on 9gag, I was ‘spoiled’ that it was a psychological horror game (bad ends everywhere). It did not convince me to take a shot of this VN, since I was thinking along the lines of “meh, so what if its a horror”, until I was further spoiled by random discussions here and there about the manipulation of game files to influence the game itself. Ok, now that’s new (for me at least). With that, I scheduled some time (by some, I meant almost 2 days worth of time) to explore and play through this game.

If you are still pure and untainted with regards to the contents of the game (and you have the intention to try it out for the full experience), I suggest that you stop reading this post right now (and subsequent parts. (yes I just did mention that there’d be more)) and go read posts by other anibloggers on actual anime/manga and more interesting discussions.
*Note: Also, profanity-ahead warning || Highly disturbing content
*Note+: In this and subsequent posts written with regards to DDLC, I have taken extra caution in the writing because it lies on the thin border between a review and a sensitive topic (I’m sure most of us are aware of the bullshit that happened at the start of 2018).

[Synopsis (DDLC)]

Hi, Monika here!
Welcome to the Literature Club! It’s always been a dream of mine to make something special out of the things I love. Now that you’re a club member, you can help me make that dream come true in this cute game!
Every day is full of chit-chat and fun activities with all of my adorable and unique club members:
Sayori, the youthful bundle of sunshine who values happiness the most;
Natsuki, the deceivingly cute girl who packs an assertive punch;
Yuri, the timid and mysterious one who finds comfort in the world of books;
…And, of course, Monika, the leader of the club! That’s me!
I’m super excited for you to make friends with everyone and help the Literature Club become a more intimate place for all my members. But I can tell already that you’re a sweetheart—will you promise to spend the most time with me? ♥

[Recommendation] – 10/10

Doki Doki Literature Club! 5_12_2017 7_00_41 PM.png

Hello? Hello? Can you hear me?
Alright, looks like the connection is good for now. I hope I can finish my thoughts-reviews before M̍ͧ͒̿ͣ̑̅ͮ͑̄̈́̅̏̾̀͏̰̖̖̳̺͕̞ͅo̵̴͑̾ͭͪ̚͘͜͏̜̺͕̼ͅͅǹ̨̇̈́͊̏ͫͭ̎͋̓̾̅̓̚҉̡͜҉̣̮̞̪̻i̷̛̞̥̠̦̪̻͒ͬ̆̿̿̇ͨ͆͌͆ͣ͑̅̐k̷̢̦̟͉͚̥͓̼̺̘͙̞̱̫̪̰̦̖ͬ̃ͫͤ̎ͦ̃͌̄̍̇̎͐̑ͫͦͩǎͮ͗͛̉͏҉̶̧͍̫̻̣̘̻̹̱͠ manages to figure out how to hack into the wordpress CSS and scripting system. I’ll be trying to avoid mentioning her name (who must not be named) in case it manages to give her sufficient resources to spawn and take over the system.

In the masked ‘review’ I (her) posted previously, it gave a rating of 10/10. I am going to give the same rating as the self-aware promotion by the game (her) itself. Give me a moment here to justify myself. I’m well aware that this visual novel is very popular on the internet a short while after it was released (In fact it got 1million downloads in just 3 months – some probably because users had to re-install the game after it crashed itself, deliberately as part of the game mechanic).
Usually I wouldn’t be jumping on the popularity bandwagon of any kind, but there was something peculiar (and amusing) which I wanted to find out for myself – I was interested in the core mechanic of how the visual novel operated and the way it forced itself into the storytelling of the visual novel / game itself. I went into it, experienced it myself, and continued to explore the different ‘approaches’ which the developer even accounted for in his game. I have to say that I am satisfied. Like, very.
The story itself is also really impressive (I will elaborate on that later), partly due to the core mechanic, but more essentially the issues that were highlighted in the visual novel itself (This will be elaborated in another part (?)).
Lastly, I am (extremely) overawed by the amount of effort dedicated to the tiniest details, bonus easter eggs (which contribute to the game’s lore/theories) and multiple interlocking deep layers of inferences in its literature, musical and visual elements. In case you are not aware, Dan Salvato is the only person behind the storyline, programming and music of the game (He does have two artists working alongside him, which I think must have contributed some ideas to the game too – oh yea, in the credits he also did thank a number of other people too~). If I had to point out an analogy, he would be the Makoto Shinkai of the visual novel universe (or something like that).

It is really difficult for me to make a solid recommendation ‘letter’ because it is something that you have to experience for yourself – try it out for yourself and feel it yourself, rather than watching playthroughs by youtubers and things as such. Well you might be able to feel to some extent, but then again you are restrained by how the youtubers are playing the game aren’t you? Free yourself (FREE M̶̬̳̺͇͉̦͔̝̩͔͚̮̊̾͆̂ͤ͆͌ͮ̋̃̇͒͆́͜͜ͅͅͅO̸̵̡̢̥̩̹̲̣̜̼͓̓̌̈͒͌͊ͫ̏́̍͐́ͮͣ͛͞N̍͛ͧ̓̆͆ͬ͒ͥ͂̌͆̚҉̴̀́͏̼͓̝̳̥̳̲̠̹͍͓I̶͔̭̣̝͉͎̪̣͔͕ͫ̉ͤ̊̃͌̓ͬ̆͐ͮ̄͑̏͜͟K̨̗̟͙̇̓̋ͭ̊̋ͯͩ̀ͅA̧͙̥̭̦͚̝̲̥̻̭̻̟̜͉̬̠̦ͩ̆ͪ̽ͫ̎͛ͣ̏̀ͮ͒̿̒) and dictate how you want to tackle the quasi-non-linear storyline.

For those of you who watch anime too, if you like School-Live!’s infamous 0-to-100 transformation, or School Day’s f̲̩̞̺̲̬̼͇̮̲̞͉̪̲͎̽͐̐̆ͣ̈́̍̆ͦ͒̇̓ͫ̊̿̈́̚̕͡͡x̵̶̘͙͇̘̳̩̤̭͂̋̄ͣ̈́̂͂ͭ̍̂̅ͬ̚͢ͅẍ̸̵̦̪̖̖̟́͛̓̔̊̇́̓̋͡x̸̩̲̜̜̭͈̤̻̾̈́ͥͪͤͧ͗͆͗̈́̐̓̍ͤͥ̇ͫͩ̕͜͠x̴̴̡̨̗̻̮̲̺͙̲͇̌̀̆ͥ͊ͥ̌̎͒͆͆͒̔͂ͤ̍̓́͝x̨̳̻̲̮̯̝͇͈̳̙͆ͦ̃̊̉͊̂ͩ̍͑ͪͧ͠ͅ up ending, then maybe you would be interested in this psychological horror too. (Do note though, I have not watched any of the above two series at the time of writing this)

===

As a brief note, I would like to point out that I have a feeling our dear developer is influenced by some anime (in addition to the ones I pointed out above). These influences potentially include Serial Experiments Lain and Aku no Hana. And then there are inspirations from other video games too like Undertale, Portal, … … Of course, I’m just speculating here…

Even the logo for the team adopts an abstract design which, based on differential perspectives emerging from using optical illusions, give rise to multiple meanings and symbolism to a single detail. (Cheeky isn’t he?)

[Story/Spoilers]

Doki Doki Literature Club! 9_12_2017 12_47_34 AM.png

You start off as an in-game male protagonist whom goes to high school (probably in his 2nd year). The game asks you for your name – which you may decide to use your actual name, or the name you gave to your laptop. This comes as an essential detail, because ALREADY at this point the developer has inserted an easter for the player to find out for him/herself. After which you seemingly follow a typical high school romance visual novel where the developer decided to use the cliche setting (that we are so sick and tired of in school rom-com anime series, especially if they are nothing extraordinary).

Unlike conventional visual novels where you would ‘select’ a certain character’s route by directly selecting a choice (good, neutral, bad), the game maximizes the Literature Club setting by getting the player to write poems by choosing 20 different words where in each iteration 10 word options are made available. If the word choice intrigues one of the characters, the chibi character at the bottom left of the screen will ‘jump in joy’.
Looks easy doesn’t it? Works in a pretty complicated manner if you ask me. Although I didn’t count the number of unique words, X choose 20 (for X being the number of unique words) gives us an insanely large number of possibilities. Alright I’m just kidding, it would be more correct to say (S choose S’) x (N choose N’) x (Y choose Y’) possibilities are available.
* A is the number of word options that pertains to character A.
* A’ is the number of word options pertaining to character A that you selected.
Am I scaring you already? I’ve yet to reach the psychological horror part though. Once you are done writing your poem, the player progresses to the next day…

Doki Doki Literature Club! 10_12_2017 10_44_28 AM.png

The # of possibilities hinted by the in-game poem… Linear.. Parabolic.. Exponential..

The day progress is dependent on two factors.
1) The in-built character route development (Where sooner or later, you will eventually explore that event and unlock CGs for that character).
2) The poem you wrote, and the choice of words you used (The engine selects the character route, which you have chosen the most # of words preferred by that character, for you to explore and unlock their CGs)
This alone will guarantee a time well spent because you have to explore different routes. Of course I didn’t realize the game would reset all my saves and I ended up diving into just one route (Ahaha~ I’m an idiot…)
If that isn’t enough, you are given Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday to write a poem on the night of each day. Thankfully, M̍ͧ͒̿ͣ̑̅ͮ͑̄̈́̅̏̾̀͏̰̖̖̳̺͕̞ͅo̵̴͑̾ͭͪ̚͘͜͏̜̺͕̼ͅͅǹ̨̇̈́͊̏ͫͭ̎͋̓̾̅̓̚҉̡͜҉̣̮̞̪̻i̷̛̞̥̠̦̪̻͒ͬ̆̿̿̇ͨ͆͌͆ͣ͑̅̐k̷̢̦̟͉͚̥͓̼̺̘͙̞̱̫̪̰̦̖ͬ̃ͫͤ̎ͦ̃͌̄̍̇̎͐̑ͫͦͩǎͮ͗͛̉͏҉̶̧͍̫̻̣̘̻̹̱͠’s ruote isn’t included in the poem writing, which simplifies things… … just a little. How can I convince you how the number of possibilities in the gameplay diverges? Let’s do a little math.

For each poem writing, you are allowed to lean your style more towards either of Sayori, Natsuki or Yuri. I’ll call them [S], [N] and [Y] for convenience.
The number of possibilities based off one day’s of poem writing is 3.
For three days that means 3 x 3 x 3 = 27 (If we have her too, then that’s 64)
This is just basic combinatorics and permutation.

To make matters worse, you are given a choice to get Natsuki or Yuri to come to your house (I mean get to help Natsuki or Yuri in the club festival preparation, but then they insist on going to your house if you chose them). I’m thinking that this segment has no correlation to the previous 3 days of poem writing, but still that’s quite-of-a-something from the developer.

TheGirls.jpg

===

Anywayssssssss… turns out (miraculously… or… not surprisingly) all the girls in this Doki Doki Literature Club fell in love with you the moment they encounter you (except Sayori – Sayori always loved you from the very start). This fact makes Sayori even more desperate for you which leads to the critical moment where you may choose to confess to her… or friendzone her.
Sayori actually has chronic depression (which will be amplified by the-girl-who-must-not-be-named) to the extent that your choice drives her insane. Confess to her, and she becomes increasingly self-conflicted with trying to ‘be happy‘ and ‘accepting her emotional fault‘ overnight. Friendzone her and you’ll see her break right in front of your eyes (okay… it wasn’t shown, but the visual novel text is highly disturbing – plus, you get a present from her in the visual novel game directory folder).

It has been mentioned by a lot of other players that this game gives you an impression that you can make choices and influence the ending of the game. But this is not The Butterfly Effect. This is Doki Doki Literature Club. And Doki Doki Literature Club is M̍ͧ͒̿ͣ̑̅ͮ͑̄̈́̅̏̾̀͏̰̖̖̳̺͕̞ͅo̵̴͑̾ͭͪ̚͘͜͏̜̺͕̼ͅͅǹ̨̇̈́͊̏ͫͭ̎͋̓̾̅̓̚҉̡͜҉̣̮̞̪̻i̷̛̞̥̠̦̪̻͒ͬ̆̿̿̇ͨ͆͌͆ͣ͑̅̐k̷̢̦̟͉͚̥͓̼̺̘͙̞̱̫̪̰̦̖ͬ̃ͫͤ̎ͦ̃͌̄̍̇̎͐̑ͫͦͩǎͮ͗͛̉͏҉̶̧͍̫̻̣̘̻̹̱͠. Both choices lead to the same end.
And that is when all hell breaks loose. By a noose.

In the end, there was nothing we could do… No matter how much we tried to Save and Load.

I was completely spoiled about that one scene before I played the game, but still I felt extremely disturbed and shocked by the scene. I think it is the soundtrack which plays an extremely important role here – It is not exactly scary. It is extremely creepy.
In this scene, we are treated to an ironic melody that is creepily happy. A theory from the community later describes it to be her (not Sayori) emotions leaking as she spies on you playing the game (Ensuring that her competitions are removed). It was apt, considering how Sayori always goes about saying “Think Happy Thoughts!” or “I want Everyone to be Happy”. The scene leaves behind that optimism to rot as its aura permeates to create a very lasting and traumatic experience for the player.
A horror game with characters that die as required by the plot wouldn’t normally be traumatic, but because of how relatable the scenarios are and how it influences us to lend pity to the characters which hits us even greater…

===

I thought the game was over.
I was wrong, because that was simply the first run.
Doki Doki Literature Club! 5_12_2017 7_02_40 PM.pngAt this point, nothing in the game works quite the way it is supposed to – assuming we were playing a normal visual novel. But this one is intentional, from the devilish mind of Dan Salvato.
Do you know those bugs that occur when you convert codes and text to visual manifestations? How would they look like in a visual novel that just showed you a disturbing scene? Only one word to describe it – Creepy.
At this point, M̍ͧ͒̿ͣ̑̅ͮ͑̄̈́̅̏̾̀͏̰̖̖̳̺͕̞ͅo̵̴͑̾ͭͪ̚͘͜͏̜̺͕̼ͅͅǹ̨̇̈́͊̏ͫͭ̎͋̓̾̅̓̚҉̡͜҉̣̮̞̪̻i̷̛̞̥̠̦̪̻͒ͬ̆̿̿̇ͨ͆͌͆ͣ͑̅̐k̷̢̦̟͉͚̥͓̼̺̘͙̞̱̫̪̰̦̖ͬ̃ͫͤ̎ͦ̃͌̄̍̇̎͐̑ͫͦͩǎͮ͗͛̉͏҉̶̧͍̫̻̣̘̻̹̱͠ ‘tries to mess with the game code’ to get her own route. Yeap, M̍ͧ͒̿ͣ̑̅ͮ͑̄̈́̅̏̾̀͏̰̖̖̳̺͕̞ͅo̵̴͑̾ͭͪ̚͘͜͏̜̺͕̼ͅͅǹ̨̇̈́͊̏ͫͭ̎͋̓̾̅̓̚҉̡͜҉̣̮̞̪̻i̷̛̞̥̠̦̪̻͒ͬ̆̿̿̇ͨ͆͌͆ͣ͑̅̐k̷̢̦̟͉͚̥͓̼̺̘͙̞̱̫̪̰̦̖ͬ̃ͫͤ̎ͦ̃͌̄̍̇̎͐̑ͫͦͩǎͮ͗͛̉͏҉̶̧͍̫̻̣̘̻̹̱͠ doesn’t have her own route, and she’s trying to make one for herself. The second arc of the game is where all the devils within each character manifest more strongly (inclusive of her). I’ve come to the conclusion that the Vice President of the Doki Doki Literature Club effectively poses as the trait/genre of the visual novel itself (Even though many people are meme-ing that she turned the game from a romance to a psychological horror). In the first arc, Sayori was the VP which gave the game a very family-friendly appeal. In the second arc, Yuri becomes the VP which true to her nature (and her obsessions) uproots the story and sends it straight to hell.

Not only do the visuals become screwed up at this point, even the soundtrack takes a nose-dive to butchered-land. Off-tune keys, muffled melodies and inverted background music… … RNG creepy animation details, repeated jump-scares and increasingly disturbing protagonist-POV (is this guy hallucinating or something?) mash together to give an ultimate horrifying experience.

I’m just glad I didn’t get overly traumatized by the whole of 2nd arc. At the same time, the 2nd arc is the very segment of the game which made me extremely impressed with the game.
Firstly, the attention to detail. Dan Salvato made a lot of bonus animations / material to amuse players (or scare them with). This comes up with randomly generated backgrounds with a chance to show a poster of Sayori. Also, randomly glitching chibi animations when you write your ‘dleoavteh‘ poem. And the chance to obtain a secret (disturbing) poem.
Secondly, Dan Salvato uses a different system to achieve 27 possibilities (that you get to explore in the first arc). In the second arc, Yuri obsessively takes your poem after the second day or something if you decide to show your poem to her. This means the order which you show the poem becomes important in unlocking different scenes/events. Note that with Sayori gone, you can theoretically write a neutral poem that appeals to Natsuki and Yuri half-half. This is pretty clever if you think about it. Making a missing feature a new feature in itself.
Thirdly, all the quotations given by the character in the first arc comes to fruition in the second arc – particularly Yuri’s statements. There is a mild connection between this mechanism with the cliche setting of an anime student council organisation – The president rules over everyone, but the vice president does practically all the work. Here (in the second arc), Yuri rules over you… until M̍ͧ͒̿ͣ̑̅ͮ͑̄̈́̅̏̾̀͏̰̖̖̳̺͕̞ͅo̵̴͑̾ͭͪ̚͘͜͏̜̺͕̼ͅͅǹ̨̇̈́͊̏ͫͭ̎͋̓̾̅̓̚҉̡͜҉̣̮̞̪̻i̷̛̞̥̠̦̪̻͒ͬ̆̿̿̇ͨ͆͌͆ͣ͑̅̐k̷̢̦̟͉͚̥͓̼̺̘͙̞̱̫̪̰̦̖ͬ̃ͫͤ̎ͦ̃͌̄̍̇̎͐̑ͫͦͩǎͮ͗͛̉͏҉̶̧͍̫̻̣̘̻̹̱͠ got so upset that she tweaked Yuri’s psychopathic tendencies to the maximum and made her kill herself.

If you were to ask me if I got emotionally invested in any character at this stage, I’ll tell you that all the characters did not deserve it (They all got deleted along with the program). However, I was pretty sad that Natsuki got deleted – and she was pretty much the most innocent character in the entire visual novel (Yes she’s a tsundere, and a little aggressive as a little girl but she’s got her mental twisted-ness under control – so much so that M̍ͧ͒̿ͣ̑̅ͮ͑̄̈́̅̏̾̀͏̰̖̖̳̺͕̞ͅo̵̴͑̾ͭͪ̚͘͜͏̜̺͕̼ͅͅǹ̨̇̈́͊̏ͫͭ̎͋̓̾̅̓̚҉̡͜҉̣̮̞̪̻i̷̛̞̥̠̦̪̻͒ͬ̆̿̿̇ͨ͆͌͆ͣ͑̅̐k̷̢̦̟͉͚̥͓̼̺̘͙̞̱̫̪̰̦̖ͬ̃ͫͤ̎ͦ̃͌̄̍̇̎͐̑ͫͦͩǎͮ͗͛̉͏҉̶̧͍̫̻̣̘̻̹̱͠ needed to brute-force and break her character every time she displays concern for others and grows suspicious of the weird things that are happening in the game).

Doki Doki Literature Club! 9_12_2017 12_55_28 AM.png

I don’t even… Why???

===

The 3rd Arc comes after, where M̍ͧ͒̿ͣ̑̅ͮ͑̄̈́̅̏̾̀͏̰̖̖̳̺͕̞ͅo̵̴͑̾ͭͪ̚͘͜͏̜̺͕̼ͅͅǹ̨̇̈́͊̏ͫͭ̎͋̓̾̅̓̚҉̡͜҉̣̮̞̪̻i̷̛̞̥̠̦̪̻͒ͬ̆̿̿̇ͨ͆͌͆ͣ͑̅̐k̷̢̦̟͉͚̥͓̼̺̘͙̞̱̫̪̰̦̖ͬ̃ͫͤ̎ͦ̃͌̄̍̇̎͐̑ͫͦͩǎͮ͗͛̉͏҉̶̧͍̫̻̣̘̻̹̱͠ broke just about every game save/load and skip mechanic. We are now left with Jͫ̃̿͐҉̛̞̼̳̝̻̩̀͡Ư̵͎͖̞̘̼͎̗͓̪̥͍͔̒͑̓͂ͧͨͧͪ̇͗̒͋̔ͨ͢͞͝S̨̛̠̭͖͇̜̗͙̞͓͚̖̹͈͍̋̋͊ͤ̓̋́̇̈́̿̈̂̔ͯ̚͟ͅT̴̛̹̥͕̟̹̹̥̝ͧ̄ͣͦ͊ͧͩͯ̽̅̃ͅ ̨̟͍͚̥̳̹̇͌̂ͥͧͦ͒ͨͣ̉ͫͫͪ̾̚͡M̵̝͓͙͕̘̈̃̌ͬ͋ͧ͋͐̀ͨ̒̀ͨͬ͑̇ͦ̉̚͞͠Ơ̶̪̼͍͓̓ͮͣͤ͒ͬ̒̋̈́͆̂͞N̴̜͇͇̭̲̮̙̫̟̩̻̣̥̮̝̙ͤ͑̍ͫͩ́́̕͟I̞̠̖̻̱͎͔̘̓ͦ͑̂͒ͭ̐͠͠K̶̡͇̝̼̻̮̼̤͇͔̩̝̰͖̭͎̞͉͈̇ͩ̒ͥͮ͢ͅẠ̴͖͕͎̼̔̌̊̏ͧ̾ͨͪ̕̕ͅ. It is here that you get to hear every single #hardtruth about today’s society which Mo… Dan Salvato wants to let the player know. It is pretty amusing, and I spent a good 1.5hour getting every pre-programmed conversation script out from her. The game becomes a little puzzle like (but not really) as you try to find a way out of the infinite loop you are stuck in… sitting with her. If you really like M̍ͧ͒̿ͣ̑̅ͮ͑̄̈́̅̏̾̀͏̰̖̖̳̺͕̞ͅo̵̴͑̾ͭͪ̚͘͜͏̜̺͕̼ͅͅǹ̨̇̈́͊̏ͫͭ̎͋̓̾̅̓̚҉̡͜҉̣̮̞̪̻i̷̛̞̥̠̦̪̻͒ͬ̆̿̿̇ͨ͆͌͆ͣ͑̅̐k̷̢̦̟͉͚̥͓̼̺̘͙̞̱̫̪̰̦̖ͬ̃ͫͤ̎ͦ̃͌̄̍̇̎͐̑ͫͦͩǎͮ͗͛̉͏҉̶̧͍̫̻̣̘̻̹̱͠ as a character you can continue to sit in that room with her and listen to her talk. But most players who want Sayori, Yuri or Natsuki back would not hesitate to ‘listen to her advice’ and delete her character file (Yeap, you have to manually go to the game folder where the ‘character’s are and temper with it).
After a short Epilogue, we are given the end credits and the song written by M̍ͧ͒̿ͣ̑̅ͮ͑̄̈́̅̏̾̀͏̰̖̖̳̺͕̞ͅo̵̴͑̾ͭͪ̚͘͜͏̜̺͕̼ͅͅǹ̨̇̈́͊̏ͫͭ̎͋̓̾̅̓̚҉̡͜҉̣̮̞̪̻i̷̛̞̥̠̦̪̻͒ͬ̆̿̿̇ͨ͆͌͆ͣ͑̅̐k̷̢̦̟͉͚̥͓̼̺̘͙̞̱̫̪̰̦̖ͬ̃ͫͤ̎ͦ̃͌̄̍̇̎͐̑ͫͦͩǎͮ͗͛̉͏҉̶̧͍̫̻̣̘̻̹̱͠. Someone in the community group suggested that the song could be reversed such that rather than it being a song written for the real person in front of the screen, it can also be interpreted to be written for the characters in the game behind the screen. Either way, the song with a simple tune yet somewhat poetic lyrics is more than depressing.
Just in case you aren’t aware yet – the very tune used to compose the song is also the central tune implemented in the visual novel. It is so basic, and yet so adaptable (with a little key change and off-tuning) and something seemingly joyful becomes incredibly creepy.

    Hmmm…this post almost looks like a scene from the Matrix 😂😂 I agree with Shokamoka, this is disturbingly creepy.
    I must resist the temptation to start with visual novels though, as awesome as this looks and sounds 😅😅 Already have way too many hobbies 😂😂
